Artist's Description
This was one of my very first flower photos. I saw this single Blue Sapphire Orchid and thought, WOW, it is all along in this sea of lavender. I hope I can catch the light just right. And I have tell you, I did pray that the light stay on this plant a little longer. For the sun come out (for just about 3 minutes) as I was shooting this orchid and it made all the difference in the world. The color just popped. (The color has not been enhanced, even though the skyline was dropped in.) SO, Thank You GOD! Two years later and it is still one of my favorites. xox

I have always enjoyed taking photos. In art school, I always thought how much easier (and quicker) to take a photo of an item, instead of drawing or painting it. Of course with today's technology it is even easier. The true talent lays in the angles, perceptive, coloring and so much more... Currently living in sunny Santa Barbara, CA has been a treat with all of the flower growers so close by.
